Questions about an official Dallas County criminal record belong with the government office that created or maintains it. We cannot retrieve, change, or certify a record. The contacts below route court files to the Dallas County Clerk of District Court, sheriff reports and jail records to the law-enforcement campus, and statewide criminal-history checks to Iowa DCI.

This Is Not a Government Office. We run a private reference site. We cannot pull criminal records, run official background checks, remove or correct a record, or accept expungement filings for anyone. For any of those, you need to reach the right government office directly.

Use the record type to select the right Dallas County or Iowa office:

  • Police reports: ask the city, sheriff, state, or campus agency that wrote the incident report.
  • Expungement filings: obtain the Iowa Judicial Branch form and file it with the Dallas County Clerk of District Court.
  • County open records: sheriff-created reports use the law-enforcement request route; other county files use the general Dallas County form.

The Dallas County Sheriff's Office publishes administrative hours of 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on weekdays. Confirm office and court hours before visiting because schedules can change.
